Cat Sheppard first came to Verbier in 1999 to work for Ski Verbier, and finally returned to Verbier in 2016, catering to those who want to enjoy good food in their chalets without any of the hassle. In 2017, she partnered with Amy Corbett, a private chef who has lived and worked in Verbier since 2009. Together, they also opened Mountain Thyme Cookery School, offering cookery classescatering services, beautiful wedding and celebration cakes - all operating alongside Mountain Thyme Delicious Dinners, in their beautiful kitchen in the heart of Verbier.  


Cat Sheppard has been teaching cookery for over ten years, running a cookery school in Berkshire for Mike Robinson on Game and Wild Food which opened in 2007. In 2009 she moved on to work for the Children’s Food Trust on the Let’s Get Cooking programme, which trained and set up over 7,000 cookery clubs across England, reaching over 3 million children.

Cat ran the London region for over seven years, working with schools, children’s centres, community centres and further education colleges. She built relationships and sponsorship with a number of large corporate organisations including Tesco, and went on to work with them to run cookery courses, teaching thousands of children basic cooking skills in store.

Prior to teaching, Cat worked as Head Chef for McLaren F1 team, ran a restaurant in Liberty of London, worked as Food and Beverage Manager for the Malmaison and Hotel du Vin group and spent a number of years working for small London outside catering companies. She trained at the Ballymaloe Cookery School in Ireland in 1997.

Amy Corbett first came to Verbier in 2009 and fell in love with the place immediately. As an editor of cookbooks in her former life, food already featured heavily in her career, and her work over the next few years managing luxury ski chalets and summer villas gave her even more of a taste for fabulous cuisine. This led to her retraining and she then worked as a private chef in Verbier for five years, both in clients' homes and at events, before co-founding Mountain Thyme.

Amy loves to travel, and wherever she goes in the world she will try to learn a few new flavour combinations or techniques to bring back home and incorporate alongside the wonderful seasonal and local ingredients we have in the Valais area. She strongly believes in educating people about food and nutrition so that everyone can enjoy meals that are not only balanced and healthy, but which taste fantastic too!
